eSports fascinates over 380 million viewers around the world. It boasts prize money in the millions and has been a significant component of youth culture for some time now. Nevertheless, little is known about this exciting field from a scientific perspective. This is why the German Sport University Cologne is tackling this unique phenomenon with the eSports Project.

Already last year, the first eSport Study 2019 provided a comprehensive picture of health behaviour in eSports. This year’s survey focused on the topics “well-being” and “recovery”, on which we interviewed over 1200 eSports amateurs and professionals. The findings of the survey were presented at a press conference on February 12th.
